Jeremiah 29:11

So the reason I haven't been blogging is cuz I wasn't sure what to write about.. A blog is like a one way conversation and it's kinda hard to keep one of those going for me. ;)

Anyways.. Today I figured I would talk about the future.. My future specifically and how God is guiding me.

So I was planning on going to Liberty University this fall until I realized that I may not get enough scholarships and loans to cover tuition. When I found that out I started getting myself ready to go to the local university. But, because God is so good to me, I found out that I have a possibility of getting a large amount of scholarships. Enough to cover about half of the tuition. It was so amazing to even have the possibility.
Also, I reallllyyyy wanted to play volleyball there and though I still am not sure if I will be able to I am seeing god working in it. Yesterday, I got a package in the mail from liberty volleyball.

tHey want me to fill out some stuff and there would be the possibility of recruiting going on. But it was basically just the standard "Dear Athlete.." kind of letter so idk what's gonna happen.. But one thing that gave me hope was, at the bottom of the letter after the coach's name it had the verse reference Jeremiah 29:11. That verse has been popping up everywhere for me in the past 3 years. I read it in books, its on the front of a journal cover my mom got me for Christmas 2 years ago. Ya know, odd places. But seeing it there really gave me hope that maybe, part of God's plan for my future might be playing for LU. I guess I'll just have to wait and find out. :)

Volleyball part 1

Okay so I figured I would go ahead and post about one of the most important things in my life right now Im playing at least 3-4 times if not daily.. It has become a part of my routine. Volleyball is one of my favorite things and I hope you are able to feel that through this post. Hope you like it! :) This is part one of two or three.. Not sure how many I'm gonna do. But this is pretty much how I feel at tournaments.

You walk through the double doors and towards the escalator. As you are on your way down you look around, your eyes widen. You see courts, balls and volleyball players everywhere. There are whistles being blown, teams cheering and yelling out positions. The crowd is just buzzing with excitement. You stand there in your uniform covered by your warm ups with your bag on your shoulder. As you begin to walk towards your court you watch the games being played on the courts you are passing. Your heartbeat quickens as you realize you will be playing shortly. Your pace speeds up a bit as you spot your court. The coach waves you over and let's you know that you are going to play after the next match is over. Quickly you take off your warm ups, tape up everything that needs it and slip on your knee pads and shoes. Finally all ready to play and off you go. The team warms up. While you are peppering with your team-mate the ref calls for captains. You meet the ref and the captain from the other team. You pick tails for the coin toss and win. You have serve and first four on the court. Hitting lines and warming up serve just add to your excitement. After that the team comes together in a huddle to strategize. The ref whistles, signaling that it's time for the game to start. You all bring your hands together as you yell "Team on three! One, two, three......" "TEAM!" You all line up on the court walk out and wave, then high five the other team under the net. You set up your rotation and while the ref checks it you joke around with your team. Then, you walk to the back line as the ref tosses you the ball. You do your routine, bounce the ball once, twice, three times and then spin it twice. Just as you look up the up ref blows the whistle and beckons for serve. You take a deep breath, toss the ball, take a step and.....
To be continued... Maybe

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!! Or as some people are calling it, Happy Singles Awareness day!! For me, its the second, as I am single and very aware of it today. Thankfully I have some amazing friends. Ashlay is my Valentine....ish. Haha.. Yes, another insider. :P And an old friend sent me a text with a flower in it. It was really sweet. Both of them brightened what was otherwise a kind of depressing day.

But really, it shouldn't be a depressing day at all because we all have the choice to have the ultimate valentine, God. He wants to show us his love. (1st John 3:1) He knows everything about us and he has a good plan for our lives. (Psalms 139:1, Jeremiah 29:11) He gave us the ultimate gift, his son's life. Jesus came down to earth as a baby and lived here without sin his whole life only to die a sinners death on the cross. It was all for us! (John 3:16)

I hope you all had a fantastic Valentines Day. :) You can see a valentines note from God to us at this link: http://wgts.org/blogs/morning-show/gods-valentine-to-you/

God loves me.

God's love. It's a big thing, but for some reason we don't always "see" it. God loves each and every one of us soooooo much. He is showing it to us every day in big and little ways but somehow we over look it.

One way I have been seeing God's love in my life lately has been through my friends. I have many friends I would like to tell you about but that would take quite some time. Soooo.. I've decided I would tell you a bit about some of my Besties.

Bestie #2 (2nd only to God) - Ashlay.

Ashlay is my short gorgeous fork. Fork... Thats a bit of an insider between us. We have sooooo many insiders. I love it when we talk completely in insiders and people look at us like complete idiots. Its so much fun! :P

She is very special to me and one of the reasons why is because she keeps me laughing. She always has some outrageous story to tell me and somehow they are always true! :P She is a strong Christian and encourages me and others in anyway she can. She is flippin amazing! :)

Unfortunately she lives about 17 hrs away by car ride. She is gonna come for my graduation in June and I'm so excited.. Love you Ash! <3

Bestie #2.5 - Joely

Okay, so his name isn't actually Joely.. That is what he calls an "awkward nickname." :P I haven't known him nearly as long as I've known Ash but I've gotten to know him really well in the past 9 months. He is a smart, funny, and a fantastic friend. I think we may have almost as many insiders as Ash and I do. :P

I feel so blessed to have Joel in my life because he always encourages me in a way that always points me back to God. He is constantly reminding me of things that God has said because I may have temporarily forgotten them because of my mood.

Somehow he is always able to make me smile. :)

Guys, I just want you to know that I thank God every day for you. Ya'll are so special to me. Thank you so much for putting up with my craziness, my moods, and my stupidity.

Heya :)

Heya! My name is Kristan and im 18. :) Just so you know, I am not much of a writer and this is just kinda for fun. :) I thought about journaling but this seemed like more fun. :)

Over the next few years my life is going to change drastically. Its scary but I'm looking forward to the change. This blog, hopefully, will help me keep track of how things have changed and keep others up to date in my life at the same time. :)

Sooooo, yeah, I'm not quite sure what else to write.. Someone said that the first post would be the hardest and the most awkward so hopefully things will get easier from here. If not, ya'll are in for some boring reading. Haha..

Okay, time to end the awkwardness now.
